Home on the Range Organics was born in 2011 out of a need to connect hard working farmers (and their products), with families that were looking for real food. 10 years on and that mission is even more relevant and sought after.
"Farming is being attacked, control of the global food supply is in the balance, and our commitment to work with and protect our local organic supply chain is stronger than ever. Demand for local products has never been stronger, which is why we made that commitment in 2011 to always have at least 75% of our products sourced from within 100 miles. We have kept that commitment for 10 years and will never deviate from buying local, and supporting our local community and farms.
There has been a global push to drive people toward consumption of lab grown meats, insects, and especially toward plant based diets.
Most of us who are researching, talking to one another, and looking beyond the common narratives, are seeing an erosion of support for cattle and poultry farmers (even organic grass fed/finished farmers), which is hugely disturbing, and as laws change governments and lobbyists are crippling small scale food processors, and creating a divide between the land and the consumer that has never been wider.
It is vital for us to share our stories, support our organic farmers who practice organic/bio-dynamic farming methods and raise grass fed and pastured animals for us to eat. They are our lifeline to healthy foods. Let's be strong and sure in our spending habits to ensure a future for our children, and the generations to come."
