The highest quality meats, locally sourced and ethically raised.

Most of our local suppliers are 100-mile diet friendly and usually situated in  the Fraser Valley. We work with small farms, on a personal one to one basis wherever possible, so we can interact with the farmers and undertake a study of the treatment and feeding of the animals we buy.

It is our mandate to purchase animals that are well cared for, well fed with a healthy feed, and treated humanely when sent to slaughter. Our customers can rely on our experience and knowledge of the farms and farmers to ensure they receive the highest quality meats, respected humanely.

Typically we want to work with farms that specialize in grass fed cattle. Our rating system explains our buying policy and how we manage our relationships with the farms we work with. We have certified organic and grass fed farmers such as Bradner Farms. Our meat selections includes products from farms that are certified organic, or have free range in their title, denoting that they are inspected and have been rated for this language.

We have updated our labelling language to include all source farms on every meat product page, and on every product that is packaged for retail.

Occasionally we will buy meats from further afield when we are unable to find local versions of products.

Some of our recipes are produced by facilities that are inspected by CFIA and HACCP inspectors. These include our bone broth for wholesale sales, and sausages, cold cuts and charcuterie, for example, which we cannot produce in house. Our recipes are taken and meticulously followed to ensure you receive the exact standards you are used to when buying our products. Made this way, they are safe and healthy, and just as delicious.
