At HOTRO, we believe the most important decision you make about your food is where it comes from. Our meat selection is built on relationships with farmers we trust — people who raise their animals well, feed them properly, and treat them humanely. Most of our suppliers are located in the Fraser Valley, BC, and are 100-Mile Diet friendly. Occasionally we source from further afield when local isn't available or when the quality is simply undeniable (like our Lumina lamb from New Zealand).
What is ethically raised meat good for?
Grass-fed, pasture-raised, and organic meats are higher in omega-3 fatty acids, CLA, and key vitamins and minerals than conventionally raised alternatives. They're better for you, better for the animals, and better for the planet.
