Nature's Multivitamin

Gram for gram, beef liver is one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet — and ours comes from Bradner Farms, certified organic, 100% grass-fed and finished, and raised without hormones or antibiotics in Abbotsford, BC. Sold in approx 2lb bags.

Why grass-fed beef liver?

  • Exceptionally high in vitamin B12, iron, folate, and vitamin A
  • Rich in CoQ10, copper, and zinc — essential for energy and immunity
  • Certified organic — no synthetic pesticides, no GMO feed
  • 100% grass-fed and finished — higher nutrient density than grain-fed
  • No added hormones, no antibiotics — ever
  • Save 5% when you buy 5lbs, 10% when you buy 10lbs

How to use it:
Slice thin and pan-fry with onions and butter, blend into ground beef for a hidden nutrient boost, or use in pâté and terrines. Soaking in milk for 30 minutes before cooking mellows the flavour.

Storage & Handling FAQ

How long does fresh beef liver keep in the fridge?
Use fresh (never-frozen) liver within 1–2 days of delivery. Keep it in its original vacuum-sealed packaging in the coldest part of your fridge (below 4 °C / 40 °F).

Can I freeze it?
Yes — beef liver freezes well. For best quality, freeze as soon as possible after delivery, before the 2-day fridge window closes. Keep it in its original vacuum-sealed bag; for longer storage you can overwrap with freezer-safe wrap or place in a freezer bag with air pressed out. Use within 3–4 months for optimal flavour and texture.

How should I portion it before freezing?
Each bag is approx 2 lbs. If you won't use the whole bag at once, divide into single-meal portions before freezing — typically 100–150 g (3.5–5 oz) per serving. Wrap individual portions tightly in freezer-safe wrap or seal in small freezer bags. Label each packet with the date. This lets you thaw only what you need and avoids refreezing.

How do I thaw it safely?
The safest method is overnight in the refrigerator — move the portion from the freezer to the fridge the evening before you plan to cook it. Once thawed in the fridge, cook within 1–2 days. Do not refreeze raw liver once it has been thawed. As a quicker option, you can thaw under cold running water (in a sealed bag) and cook immediately afterward. Avoid thawing at room temperature.

Can I refreeze beef liver?
No — do not refreeze raw liver once it has thawed. Pre-portioning before freezing (see above) is the best way to avoid waste.
