There's a version of "convenient food" that means ultra-processed, sodium-loaded, and nutritionally hollow. And then there's what we do at HOTRO.ca.

Our ready meals are built on the same foundation as everything else we carry: local BC farms, certified organic ingredients where possible, and bone broth made in-house. The difference is that the cooking is already done for you.

What's Actually in Our Ready Meals

Every ready meal starts with real ingredients — no fillers, no artificial preservatives, no mystery proteins. The base of most dishes is our own Nourish Yourself Beef Bone Broth or Chicken Bone Broth, which means you're getting collagen, gelatin, and minerals in every serving, not just in the broth mug.

Our Most Popular Ready Meals

Mad Brit Beef Bourguignon

A classic French braise done properly: grass-fed BC beef slow-cooked with red wine, mushrooms, pearl onions, and herbs until fall-apart tender. Rich, deeply savoury, and genuinely satisfying. Heat and serve in under 10 minutes.

Mad Brit Butter Chicken

A crowd favourite — tender chicken in a creamy, spiced tomato sauce. Made with real cream and no shortcuts. Pairs perfectly with basmati rice or naan. One of our highest-reorder dishes.

Who Ready Meals Are For

  • Busy weeknights when you want a proper meal without the prep time
  • Post-workout recovery — high protein, real food, no effort
  • Batch meal prep — stock your freezer and always have something good on hand
  • Guests — heat, plate, and take the credit
  • Anyone on a bone broth reset who wants variety beyond sipping broth straight (see our 10-Day Reset guide)

How to Heat Them

All our ready meals are frozen for freshness. To heat:

  1. Stovetop (recommended): Transfer to a saucepan, heat on medium-low for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Microwave: Transfer to a microwave-safe dish, cover loosely, and heat in 2-minute intervals until hot throughout.
  3. Do not boil — gentle heat preserves the texture and flavour best.

The Bottom Line

Convenient doesn't have to mean compromised. Our ready meals are proof that you can eat real, nourishing food on a busy schedule — without cooking from scratch every night.
