Ingredients

Beef

  • 1½ lb grass-fed flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 1 tbsp tamari (for marinating)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (for marinating)
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil

Broccoli

  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp water (for steaming)

From-Scratch Savoury Sauce

  • 3 tbsp tamari (gluten-free soy sauce)
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce (gluten-free if needed)
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (slurry)
  • ½ cup beef bone broth or water

Instructions

Marinate the Beef

  1. Toss sliced beef with tamari and cornstarch. Set aside for 10 minutes.

Make the Sauce

  1. Whisk together tamari, oyster sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, bone broth, and cornstarch slurry. Set aside.

Cook

  1. Heat 1 tbsp avocado oil in a wok over high heat. Add beef in a single layer; sear for 1–2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add remaining oil. Add broccoli and water; stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until bright green and just tender.
  3. Return beef to the wok. Pour sauce over everything and toss to coat.
  4. Cook for 1–2 minutes until sauce thickens and becomes glossy.

Serve

  1. Divide among four bowls over steamed rice or cauliflower rice. Serve immediately.

Nutrition Notes

Grass-fed beef is rich in omega-3 fatty acids and CLA. Broccoli is an excellent source of vitamin C, vitamin K, and sulforaphane. This dish is gluten-free and dairy-free. The cornstarch slurry creates a glossy, restaurant-quality sauce without any artificial thickeners.
